Botero takes Colombia’s violence to Brazil

Colombia’s most famous sculptor and painter Fernando Botero opened an exhibition on violence in his home country in the Brazilian capital of Brasilia.

The traveling exhibition is called “The Pain of Colombia” and contains 35 drawings, 25 oil paintings and six aquarel paintings.

In the paintings, Botero shows a grim side of Colombia; shot people, torn apart bodies and human remains eaten by vultures.

The exhibition will be seen in the Brazilian capital until May 1.
