Bomba Estereo ‘best band in the world’

by Cameron Sumpter May 31, 2010

bomba estereo, colombia, MTV

Colombian electro cumbia band, Bomba Estereo, was named the “best new band in the world” by MTV show “Iggy,” after beating 24 indie bands from around the world.

The “Electro tropical’ band from Bogota was described by Iggy as being “the hardest working band in Colombia,” and beat acts such as Surfer Blood, Das Racist, and Malawian, “The Very Best,” who perhaps on this occasion, wasn’t.

Bomba Estereo now have the opportunity to widen their fan base with a live performance taping with the popular MTV show, as well as the obvious bragging rights that accompany their “best in the world” status.
