Bogota’s Museum of Modern Art (MAMBO) is exhibiting the work of Colombian photographer Hernan Diaz, who died last year.
Diaz was born in 1931 and published his first book of photography in 1963. He worked as a corespondent for Time, Fortune, Life and many other magazines and received many awards for his work.
MAMBO’s curator Maria Elvira Ardila and Diaz’s close friend Rafael Moure worked together to assemble 150 photos for the exhibition. The museum has published a book to accompany the exhibition.
Ardila explained to Caracol TV that the exhibition portrays the life of the photographer and is a “visual narrative of the history of Colombia, in which we find characters who have participated in the politics … and culture of [Colombia].”
The exhibit runs from November 4, 2010, to January 15, 2011.
