Bogota mayor compiles 18,000-page defense against corruption allegations

Bogota Mayor Samuel Moreno has compiled an 18,000-page defense against accusations his administration fraudulently granted public works contracts.

The documents were sent to Moreno’s party Polo Democratico on Monday and will be used by Moreno to defend himself and his administration against the corruption allegations investigated by several financial and judicial bodies.

According to Moreno, he is “providing all information I have been asked to in a comprehensive and timely manner.”

The mayor is the center of a storm of critique about the delay in public works and is accused of having received commissions when public works were granted to construction company the Nule Group.
