The recently-dismissed Bogota comptroller faces criminal charges for his alleged part in the capital’s biggest corruption scandal in recent years.
According to W Radio, Colombia’s Prosecutor General’s Office is preparing corruption charges against Miguel Moralesrussi for allegedly receiving bribes to allow the granting of public works to private construction companies.
Moralesrussi, who was barred from holding public office for 20 years on Friday, will have to testify before prosecutors on March 23 and respond to allegations he benefited financially from the concession of public works and delays in these public works.
The corruption scandal also involves Mayor Samuel Moreno and his brother, Senator Ivan Moreno.
