Bogotá authorities fear flooding

The mayor has called on people in Suba, Engativá, Fontibón, Kenedy and Bosa to call the emergency number 123 if they notice overflows of the river. The authorities themselves are constantly monitoring the level of the river. The  inhabitants of the endangered areas should be prepared for a mass evacuation in case the authorities call for one.A special command center has been set up to coordinate a relief operation for those affected by floods. The state of alert will probably last a few more days, since more rain is expected in the Bogotá area.
