Environment trade fair comes to Colombia

“Bioexpo Colombia 2010 – A Natural Adventure,” a trade fair featuring environmentally friendly products and services, opens November 18 in the city of Neiva, Huila department.

Bioexpo Colombia state on their website that the fair “promotes sustainable production processes associated [with] the effective use of natural resources, industrial eco-products, and environmental services.”

The fair will have “an extensive academic, artistic and commercial agenda,” according to its promoters, which “has been developed around the sustainable use of natural resources, biodiversity and bio-commerce, among other topics, with the purpose of supporting producers and business people.”

Rey Ariel Borbon Ardila, general director of the Regional Autonomous Corporation of the High Magdalena (CAM), who co-organizes the expo, said that “Bioexpo Colombia is not just a place to share experiences related to environmental themes, but also an opportunity to generate economic resources, stimulate employment, development and technology. For this reason, Bioexpo Colombia becomes an event of national and international importance, it’s the ideal surrounding for representatives of the public and private life to look at southern Colombia”, reports newspaper Diario de Huila.

Bioexpo Colombia, which first took place in 2003, will run this year until 21 November.
