Barranquilla airport closed after plane accident

The northern city of Barranquilla closed its airport Saturday following an accident a Colombian Air Force aircraft.

According to the authorities, the Ernesto Cortissoz airport was closed after a A37 B Dragonfly caught fire while taking off from the airport.

The two men on board the aircraft were able to leave the plane unharmed.

The airport was closed to allow airport and Air Force personnel remove the aircraft remove the airplane from the strip.

Investigators from the Air Force have begun an investigation into the causes of the accident.
