Avianca to offer direct flights from New York to Cartagena

Colombia’s Avianca airline will begin offering direct flights between New York City and Colombia’s Caribbean tourist hotspot Cartagena in July.

According to the airliner, there will be six flights a week after July 15; On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays flights will leave Cartagena at 11:54AM and arriving in New York at 5:45PM.

On Monday, Wednesday and Sunday flights will depart from New York at 7:55AM and arrive in Cartagena at noon.

“For Cartagena de Indias, Avianca’s new flight path is very important as this shows confidence in the future of the airline and it will also increase tourism,” chief executive of the Cartagena Tourism Corporation, Salazar Fuentes, told reporters.
