Avianca, Taca fuse frequent flyer programs

Colombian airline Avianca and multinational airline Taca have fused their frequent flyer databases.

According to Avianca president Fabio Villegas, the two companies will combine both the software and hardware supporting their “LifeMiles” frequent flyer program.

“With LifeMiles, all the seats of the aircrafts are available to be redeemed with miles. Depending on the season and flight, a mileage is obtained to get a ticket,” Caracol Radio quoted Villegas as saying.

The program also offers the possibility to use the saved miles with associated airlines United, Lufthansa and Iberia.
