Colombian airline Avianca inaugurated a new direct flight between Madrid and the central Colombian city of Medellin, in an opening ceremony at the Spanish capital’s Barajas Airport.
The flight, which is the first direct connection between the two cities, departs from Madrid on Thursdays and Saturdays in an Airbus A-330 with a passenger capacity of 252.
Avianca’s has another 50 weekly direct Spain-Colombia connections include Bogota-Madrid-Bogota, Bogota-Barcelona-Bogota and Cali-Madrid-Cali.
Avianca announced in April that the airline would open the direct Madrid-Medellin flight.
