Huila authorities say they foiled an assassination attempt on Cambio
Radical leader Germán Vargas Lleras. The politician was supposed to be
killed by a 40-kilo roadside bomb.
Vargas Lleras is on a political tour through the Huila Department.
Unknown people were to detonate the explosives the moment the well known politician passed.
Authorities discovered the explosives before the Cambio Radical leader and allegedly future presidential candidate passed.
