Failed chicken thief stuck in a chimney

An 18-year-old Manizales man got in a bit of a jam when he tried to rob a local roast chicken restaurant on Monday morning.

The young man entered the restaurant via a chimney at dawn, hoping to nab a few chickens lying around before the restaurant opened.

But the vent was too small for him to fit through, and the young man remained stuck there until the workers arrived later that morning.

When he heard the staff milling about, the young man began screaming “Get me out of here!” He also said he was “roasting” from the chimney’s heat, and cramped because of the tight space.

The restaurant workers called the authorities, who had to break the chimney in order to free the failed poultry robber. He was freed safe and sound.

The owner of the restaurant decided not to press charges against the thief, declaring magnanimously that “the poor guy was hungry and didn’t steal anything.”
