Army seizes 2 tons of FARC cocaine

The Colombian Army seized two tons of high quality cocaine in the west
Colombian department of Cauca. Authorities believe the stockpile of the
class A drug belonged to the FARC.

The cocaine was wrapped in 51 waterproof packages. Authorities believe the FARC planned to transport the drug down the Micay River and into the Pacific Ocean, where it would be picked up by small boats and taken to Europe, Terra reported Thursday.

The shipment purportedly belonged to the 30th and 60th FARC Fronts.

The army said arrests were made during the operation but did not release names or numbers.
