Army seize stash of 787 FARC bombs

The Colombian army seized a stash of FARC explosive devices which they found hidden in the jungle in the south Colombian department of Meta.

The 787 devices were found in hidden in plastic containers, in an area occupied by the “Isaias Pardo” FARC front.

According to authorities, the guerrillas were planning to plant the explosives in the region, in an attempt to disrupt Colombia’s second round presidential elections scheduled for June 20.

The army also found 70 electric detonators and 300 meters of detonating cord, along with the haul of explosives.

All of the weaponry was destroyed by the army.
