Colombian armed forces found and destroyed five camps belonging to the
FARC in the south western departments of Putumayo and Cauca Wednesday.
According to Terra, the guerrilla camps belonged to the 13th and 48th divisions of FARC. Four camps of the 13th division were found in the municipality of Santa Rosa, Cauca. They could house up to 180 guerrillas and were equipped with meeting spaces and trenches.
Several days earlier, soldiers had found a cave filled with more an a ton of explosives in the same area.
The fifth camp, belonging to the 48th division, was discovered in Puerto Bello, in the municipality of Valle del Guamuez, Putumayo. Soldiers uncovered medical equipment in the camp.
