Army destroy ‘FARC’ minefield

Military explosives experts have destroyed a minefield, allegedly laid by FARC guerrillas, in the central Colombian department Huila reported newspaper El Espectador Friday.

The minefield was allegedly laid to protect FARC camps in the the municipality of Algeciras, in northern Huila.

The five destroyed land mines were made of plastic, so they could not be picked up by metal detectors.

The army announced it will continue intensifying operations in the area, an important corridor of mobility for the guerrilla.
