Army captures FARC recruiter

Colombian armed forced captured ‘Juan Vera’, an acknowledged FARC recruiter and one of the local political heads of the guerrillas.

Vera was captured in the town of Líbano in the Tolima department. He is suspected to have recruited a thousand children for Colombia’s largest rebel group.

The suspect is member of the Communist Party and in charge of the Bolivarian Movement in the departments of Meta and Vichada.
