Armed forces bomb FARC camp near Venezuela border

Colombia’s air force and and army on Thursday bombed a FARC camp in the municipality of Hacari in the department of North of Santander, close to the Venezuelan border.

The  operation was aimed at FARC’s 33rd Front, a division headed by a guerrilla known as “Jimmy Guerrerro,” according to Caracol Radio. The commander of the army’s 2nd Division, General Pedro Leon Claver, said this bombing was a heavy blow against those who commit violence against security forces and civilians in the region.

“This is a decisive action in a difficult terrain where kidnappings and executions have taken place,” the senior official said.

Computers, USB sticks and tons of food were found in the camp.
