Apertura Liberal to support DMG boss in 2010 Senate elections

The political party Apertura Liberal Wednesday said it will support
David Murcia in his plans to run for Colombian Senate in 2010.

“As the candidate of the DMG family, Murcia fulfills all qualities and requirements of law”, Miguel Angel Florez, director of the party, said on a press conference in Cucuta, northeast Colombia.

According to Florez, the fact that Murcia is currently on trial and in jail is no problem for his candidacy. The party chairman states that DMG never had a single claim for fraud, reported El Tiempo Thursday.

The boss of suspected money launderer and ponzi scheme DMG last week
surprisingly announced he plans to run for the Senate
in the 2010
elections. Murcia is on trial for illicit enrichment and laundering money for drug lords.
