Anti-terrorist prosecutor dismissed

An anti-terrorist prosecutor was dismissed Thursday after he allegedly
renewed the order to intercept e-mail traffic of university personnel
and journalists. The prosecutor says he was set up and that someone
within the office is protecting alleged drug lord ‘Don Mario’.

In interviews with both W Radio and Caracol Radio the dismissed security official — who led the investigations against alleged FARC infiltrators on public universities — claims he was about to catch one of Coombia’s largest drug lords Daniel ‘Don Mario’ Rendon when he was forced to leave office.

The prosecutor said he had found the location of the drug kingpin, but was dismissed before he could proceed to ordering the arrest.
