Writer found for ‘Jaque’ script

Jessica Postigo was hired by U.S. movie producers Screen Gems and
Vertigo to write a film about the rescue of Ingrid Betancourt, three
Americans and 11 members of Colombia’s armed forces.

Shortly after the spectacular rescue operation, Colombian television station and the movie makers agreed to produce a movie about “operation Jaque” that suddenly had put Colombia in the international spotlight.

The film will tell the story from the military rescuers’ point of view and how they tricked the FARC rebels responsible for the hostages into letting 15 of their most prominent abductees enter the helicopter that would fly them to freedom.

The producers announced to have the final 22 minutes of the rescue operation unfold in real time.
