Witchdoctor hired to cure flu robs ill family’s home

A supposed witch doctor drugs and robs a family who had hired him to cure them of a flu.

According to police in the northern Colombian department of Santander, the incident took part in the town of San Gil where police began a search for the thieving shaman.

Local police commander Rolando Antonio Ramirez told press the self-proclaimed magical doctor was hired by the family to cure them of a flu.

While in their home, the shaman ordered the four family members to drink a mysterious potion, sit in a specific position and wait for the illness to leave their bodies, Ramirez said.

However, when the family woke up almost 24 hours later their house had been robbed of all valuables while they were still suffering the same flu.

The police commander made a public call on citizens to be vigilant for conmen pretending to have magical powers.
