Wife of DMG director arrested in Uruguay

Interpol in Uruguay says it captured the fugitive wife of DMG director David Murcia Guzmán.

Until this morning Giovanna Ibeth León was one of the few executives of the suspected money launderer and pyramid scheme DMG that was still on the run.

Murcia’s wife was arrested in the Uruguayan capital Montevideo early Tuesday morning, Interpol said.

Colombia issued an international arrest warrant for the DMG executive after it shut down the company’s activities in November 2008. Murcia was arrested in Panamá, extradited to Colombia and has been in a Bogotá jail awaiting trial since.
