Who is the best Colombian footballer ever?

Who is the best Colombian football player ever? This is a question many
Colombians must have wondered about over the years. Well, the question
will finally be answered as the ‘Divición Mayor del Fútbol Colombiano’
opens a public poll to come to a conclusion.

The poll will cover the last sixty years, in which Colombia experienced many ups and of course the occasional down.

In all honesty, the election might not really be about the best footballer, since that title was given to legendary Carlos Valderrama many years ago. He will surely be happy to have it officially confirmed though.

The poll includes several others from Valderrama’s generation, such as Higuita, Asprilla and Valencia. Another name that appears is Andrés Escobar, the unfortunate defender who was assasinated shortly after the 1994 World Cup.

Also on the 40-man shortlist are players that are still active, such as Yepes, Oscar Córdoba, Iván Córdoba, Pacheco and Juan Pablo Ángel, and the recently retired Atlético Nacional legend Víctor Hugo Aristizábal.

To vote, just register at golgolgol.net and follow their instructions.

The poll ends on November 30th.
