Vallenato star convinces prosecutor grabbing child’s crotch is ‘normal’

Colombian vallenato star Silvestre Dangond has been let off the hook a year after he fondled a young fan’s crotch at a 2010 concert, reported  gossip website La Fiscalia Monday.

The incident — which took place on stage at the singer’s concert on Colombia’s Caribbean coast in December 2010 — was caught on camera at the time, and prompted the Prosecutor General to launch an investigation.

The singer made a public apology at the time, but defended his wandering hand by claiming that such genital-grabbing was “characteristic” of the northern coastal region, where Dangond hails from. He said at the time

It seems the prosecution finally agrees, concluding there was no grounds for continuing the investigation, a year after it was launched.

At a hearing on January 26, the allegations against the singer will be officially dropped, with Dangond’s lawyer announcing they will seek compensation for damages caused to the singer.
