Vallenato singer arrested for murder

Vallenato singer Lisandro Mesa was arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of a government official.

The 69-year old singer was arrested in Barranquilla over the weekend, Colombia’s Prosecutor General Mario Iguarán announced Tuesday.

Mesa, one of the most famous vallenato singers of Colombia, is suspected of being involved in the murder of Isabel María Pérez, a government official who was killed on June 28 2001.
