Uribe launches website

Former Colombian President Alvaro Uribe on Wednesday added to his online presence by launching his own website at www.alvarouribevelez.com.

Colombia’s former president is an active user of social networking site, with a Twitter account and a Facebook page.

Uribe recently mounted an impassioned defense of his policies via Twitter, listing his administration’s achievements, such as doubling the rate of investment, lifting 6 million people out of poverty, and extraditing 1,140 drug traffickers.

The new website will be used to “stay in contact” with Colombia’s citizens and to publish news that relates to the former President.

Uribe’s sites are Colombia’s seventh most visited online pages.
