Massive displacement in Nariño: UN

Around 700 people were displaced by clashes between the FARC and ELN
over territory in El Charco, Nariño department, the United Nations
Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Colombia, OCHA,
reported on Tuesday.

According to preliminary information, the community affected is the same community that was previously displaced in March. Members of the community had chosen to return to their homes because they say they did not receive any help from the government.

The population is still at risk because the guerrillas keep fighting, local authorities said.

This is the fourth displacement in four months in El Charco. More than 3600 people have had to flee their homes in the last months, OCHA reported.
