Uribe’s Twitter account hacked

The Twitter account of Colombia’s former President Alvaro Uribe was hacked Wednesday, apparently by “Anonymous,” an international hacker collective that previously found entry to Colombian government websites.

The hackers announced their successful penetration to Uribe’s account by writing “We are Anonymous” and posting a link to a YouTube video regarding the “false” independence of Colombia, which is celebrated July 20.

The hackers changed the template of Uribe’s account and put in a link to their blog in the top of the Twitter page.

Approximately one hour after the initial hack, what seemed to be Uribe himself called on followers to help recover the account that had been penetrated by “terrorists.”
