Swiss tourist drowns off Colombia’s Caribbean beach

A Swiss tourist has drowned just off one of the shore of Colombia’s Caribbean national Tayrona Park, authorities said Tuesday.

The 41-year old victim went swimming with her husband at Playa Brava “and apparently was taken by a wave,” a local official told French press agency AFP.

The body of the Swiss woman was found by rescue workers hours later and taken to the nearby city of Santa Marta.

Parque Tayrona is one of Colombia’s most important tourism destinations.
