Study puts Colombia’s National University as the country’s best

Colombia’s National University has taken the top of the list of a recent ranking carried out by college research group Saipens Research.

Colombia’s top universities

  1. National University (Bogota campus)
  2. Antioquia University
  3. Los Andes University
  4. Valle University
  5. Javeriana University
  6. Nacional University (Medellin campus)
  7. Northern University
  8. Santander Industrial University
  9. Caldas University
  10. Universidad Pedagogical y Technology

The rankings were based on primarily: the number of publications made, and the amount of master’s, doctor’s and group investigation programs offered, ostensibly weighing both the breadth and quantity of university output.

One of the university’s main strengths is its emphasis on cross-discipline group investigation work, where students from both the undergraduate and graduate levels inside varying departments collaborate on group investigations, using the school’s national and international networks for data and further support.

Many of these investigation groups have worked directly with public and private institutions throughout the country, declaring sustainable growth and equitable economic and social development as the core values driving the direction of projects.

In a similar survey carried out by QS World University Rankings, Universidad Nacional was ranked as Latin America’s ninth best university, behind Universidad de Los Andes, which took fourth place.
