Soccer legend Carlos Valderrama heads Colombian tourism campaign

A new campaign headed by retired Colombian soccer star Carlos Valderrama encourages tourists to visit Tayrona National Park in the northern Caribbean region of Colombia.

The campaign, whose slogan is “Conservation, All Good, All Good”, also aims to promote conservation efforts.

“The campaign aims to inform and raise awareness among tourists about good conduct that should be practiced in the protected area,” said Julia Miranda, Director of National Parks.

The park boasts a diverse geography that ranges from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range to the sandy beaches of the Carribean Sea. It’s also home to more than a hundred mammal species and 300 species of birds.

With the upcoming Easter holiday there are expected to be more than 7,000 visitors to the park every day.
