Colombian bombshell Shakira will sing the National Anthem during the opening ceremonies of the Summit of the Americas, to be held in Colombia April 14-15.
Foreign Affairs Minister Maria Angela Holguin confirmed the singers presence Monday and even hinted at the possible inclusion of other Colombian stars Juanes, Carlos Vives and Fonseca.
34 members of the Organization of American States (OAS) have been invited to the Caribbean coastal city of Cartagena for the meeting.
U.S. President Barack Obama will attend and a bilateral meeting with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos willl be held at the conclusion of the summit on April 15.
