Shakira confirmed to play U.K.’s Glastonbury Festival

Colombian singing star Shakira is confirmed to perform this year at the U.K.’s most famous music event, the Glastonbury Festival.

The sultry hip shaker will join a line-up of international superstar musicians, including U2, Stevie Wonder and Snoop Dogg, at one of Britain’s oldest and best music festivals, which will this year be celebrating it’s 40th anniversary.

“Shakira is not only an amazing pop star but also socially and politically forward thinking; she’s working incredibly hard for good causes around the world,” said the festival’s organizer Emily Eavis, “We feel honoured to have the ‘She Wolf’ herself come to Worthy Farm.”

Shakira said that “Glastonbury is famous for being one of the best festival crowds, so I’m sure I’ll have a great time.”

Glastonbury Festival 2010 will take place on May 28 to May 30.
