Shakira and Miley join forces in the name of love

The best that Colombia and the U.S. have to offer in pint sized popstars are to join forces for a very worthy cause.

Colombia’s northern belle Shakira and U.S. teen sensation Miley Cyrus have announced they will come together to record a duet, titled “Love & Rock.” The single will raise money for children with heart problems, and is due to be released on St. Valentine’s Day.

The song is to be performed at a charity gala on February 14, and fingers are crossed that the stars will release a video to accompany the song, which is described by Shakira’s sources as “for charity and not commercial.”

This will be Shakira’s second collaboration with a U.S. star, and no doubt she is hoping to repeat the 2007 success of “Beautiful Liar,” her hip-shaking duet with Beyonce. Given her gyration-tastic performances in last summer’s “Gypsy Heart” tour, Miley should have no problem keeping up.
