Shakira and I are in a very good place: Pique

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has said that his relationship with Shakira is going very well despite the paparazzi persecution endured as a result of his high-profile relationship with the Colombian songstress.

In an interview with Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the Spaniard was asked about a recent tweet by the Colombian in which she declared “Long live Barca and long live the three [referring to Pique’s shirt number]!”

He explained that “she simply wants to show that we are in a very good place, that I am very happy, that she is also, or that’s what it seems, and that’s it.”

The world cup-winning defender, however, seems to be a little bit less happy with the paparazzi circus that his higher-profile celebrity status now attracts.

“They all go in one pack and its all about getting used to the new situation, in that they follow you down the street, but I am trying to take it with maximum normality,” he explained.
