A Black Hawk helicopter carrying 14 members of Colombian leader Juan Manuel Santos’ military escort made an emergency landing near Bogota on Saturday, wounding three soldiers, the president told reporters.
After the helicopter suffered a malfunction, Santos praised the pilot’s quick thinking in returning the aircraft to base, where he made a crash landing, saying the move “prevented a tragedy of major proportions.”
Two soldiers suffered minor injuries and another broke his collarbone, a military source said.
