Guitar hero Carlos Santana will join the Fania All-Stars for a gig in
Bogotá for what could easily be the most memorable salsa concert of the
year.
The Fania All-Stars, formed in New York City in 1968 to showcase the musical talent of record label Fania Records, were at the roots of boogaloo and later salsa and have been involved in almost all classic salsa albums. Famous collaborators of the Fania were Hector Lavoe, Willie Colón, Richie Ray & Bobby Cruz and La Lupe.
The career of Santana, still one of the most respected guitar players in the world, spans over 40 years. The Mexican musician is widely respected for his fusion of rock, salsa and jazz.
The two acts will perform in Bogotá’s El Campín stadium on March 12 and March 13.
