Santa Fé shatters Medellín dream

Santa Fé on top

Santa Fé shattered Medellín’s dream of entering the important top eight of the Copa Mustang by beating the visiting team 1-0.

The Bogotá team did what it had to do, took the victory and — at least until Sunday — took over the first place of the soccer league.

The only goal of the match, played at Bogotá’s El Campín stadium, was scored by Neculman from the penalty spot in the 52nd minute.

DIM are now eleventh in the league and might drop another few spots after Sunday’s games. The first eight of the league will play the finals.

Cúcuta takes Junior by surprise

Cúcuta, having a disastrous second leg of this year’s league, surprised Junior at home in Barranquilla, won the match with 1-0 and went home with three points.

Only ten minutes had been playedin Barranquilla when Castro put the visiting side in the lead, and Cúcuta held on to their lead to secure what is only their second victory this season.
