Russia’s FC Anzhi Makhachkala has offered Spain’s Atletico Madrid $84 million for Colombian striker Radamel Falcao, a Portuguese newspaper reported Wednesday.
According to newspaper A Bola, the Russian club set its eye on “El Tigre” after acquiring Cameroon’s striker Samuel Eto’o and veteran Brazilian defender Roberto Carlos.
The aim of Anzhi owner and billionaire Suleyman Kerimov would be to form a highly competitive team to compete in the national league and on a European level.
Falcao achieved an outstanding year in his first season with Atletico completing 36 goals, including two in the final of the Europa League against Atletico Bilbao.
