The New York Red Bulls have signed leading scorer Juan Pablo Angel to a multiyear contract extension.
Terms of the deal, which was announced Monday, were not discussed.
A two-time MLS All-Star, Angel has scored 33 goals in 47 games since signing with the Red Bulls in April 2007.
He missed seven games in 2008 due to injury but still tallied an Eastern Conference-leading 14 goals in 23 regular season games.
New York reached the MLS Cup final for the first time last season, losing to the Columbus Crew.
The Red Bulls’ home opener is scheduled for March 28 against the New England Revolution. (AP)
