Presidential candidates vowes to continue hunger strike

Colombian presidential candidate Robinson Devia, who started a hunger strike on Monday, says he will continue his protest until he receives guarantees his candidacy is treated fairly by government and media.

In an interview with RCN Radio, Devia demanded “of the National Government the democratic conditions and guarantees for the nine candidates who are taking part in these elections.”

The presidential hopeful is particularly cross with the country’s media who have not included him in presidential debates or in some of the polls leading up to the elections.

In voter polls that did register Devia, the presidential candidate received than 1% of the votes.
