Police seize 740kg cocaine in Cartagena

Colombian anti-drug police seized 740 kg of cocaine in
the northern Colombian port of Cartagena on Sunday, local news reports
said.

The drug was about to be sent to the Guatemalan province of Izabal.

Colonel Luis Fernando Burgos, chief
of the anti-drug police office of Colombia, said the drug was mixed
with dolomite quicklime and had been due to be exported under the name
of a non-existent company called Jamaicoop.

No one was detained during the operation.

The value of the cocaine was estimated at 2.2 million U.S. dollars, police said. (Xinhua)
