As peace talks with Colombia’s largest rebel group the FARC enter the 16th round of negotiations Wednesday, the chief negotiator and former vice president Huberto de la Calle affirmed that President Santos is evaluating the progress that has been made since opening dialogues this past November.

“We have received precise instructions from the president and we are analyzing the distinct elements that must be taken to advance the process,” said de la Calle after a meeting with the president. “What we wish to transmit is that the president is evaluating and will continue to evaluate the process.”

Peace talks between the FARC and Colombia have been going on since November, 2012, and thus far, only one point — agrarian reform —  has been officially agreed upon of the lengthy six point agenda.
