Panama City brothel funded FARC

A Panama City brothel had commercial ties with the rebel Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), Panama City mayor Bosco Vallarino said Wednesday.

According to Vallarino, the brothel, which operated at the high class neighborhood of Coco del Mar, was closed august 15 for clandestine prostitution in a diligence attended both by Vallarino and the country’s President Ricardo Martinelli.

Vallarino said that the closed house of prostitution was giving the FARC as much as US $ 27,000 monthly.

Panama’s anti-drug prosecutor Edwin Guardia said he has not received any information from the Panama City mayor on the brothel issue.
