The original manuscript of “There are no thieves in this town” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez will be auctioned off in London.
Fans of Marquez’s work will have the opportunity to buy the original version of “There are no thieves in this town”, complete with corrections and annotations by the Nobel laureate himself.
The text will be available for auction at Christie’s on November 21. Observers estimate the document’s value to be between $80,000 and $127,000.
Eventually published in 1962, the typescript supposedly “provides a rich insight into the author’s working methods.”
Christie’s claimed the item is the first manuscript by Garcia Marquez to be offered for sale at an international auction.
