Once Caldas beat Junior in first leg of final

Once Caldas Wednesday did what the Manizales home crowd expected of their eleven
men and won the first leg of the Copa Mustang final against Junior, 2-1. The
Barranquilleros are now forced to play the second leg at full force not
to end second in the league.

The Manizales team started the final with offensive play and needed 19 minutes to take the lead. Nondier Romero was able to take advantage of an error made by the opponents defense and was ble to shoot the ball from an incredible distance into the far corner.

Once Caldas continued controlling the match and heard the referee calling for half time with 1-0 on the board.

In the 27th minute of the second half Once Caldas forward Johan Fano was able to push a pass behind the Junior goalie, almost securing the home team of a comfortable start of the second leg.

But six minutes later Giovanni Hernandez scored a goal for Atletico Junior and determining the final score.

The second leg of the final will be played Sunday in Barranquilla.
