In an interview with El Mundo the sultry hip-shaker said that her opinion may well change in the future, but for now she has no reason or desire to strip for the camera.
“I don’t want to do it and I have no reason to. I couldn’t go nude. Maybe when I’m 40 I’ll change my opinion. Ten years ago I couldn’t have imagined that I’d be dancing in a tight leotard in a golden cage,” said Shakira, referring to her “She Wolf” video, “Today I say that I will never show myself naked. But our opinions change all the time.”
The 33-year-old attributes her unwillingness to pose nude to shyness and a religious upbringing.
“I grew up in a very Catholic environment. My father had Lebanese roots. I grew up in the north coast of Colombia, where life is very traditional, I don’t have courage to do certain things.”
Well, judging from press shots of Shakira, we don’t think fans will be too disappointed – the singer looks just fine fully clothed.
