Colombia appoints new ambassador to UK

Mauricio Rodriguez Munera was sworn in as the new Ambassador for Colombia in the United Kingdom on Monday.

Rodriguez Munera is a Business Administrator who specialized in International Finance at the University of South Carolina and until being sworn in as Ambassador on Monday, served as a commentator on the desk of Colombian news station Radio Caracol.

In 1993 Rodriguez Munera founded economic magazine Portfolio for the Colombian Editorial House El Tiempo.

The new Ambassador served as rector of the College of Superior Administration Studies, from where he himself is a graduate and between 2007 and 2009 he taught Finance, Economics and Management at the University of the Andes and Externado de Colombia.

Between 1981 and 1993, Rodriguez Munera served as financial director of Dow Chemical.
